A magnificent example of these rare platinum and palladium bearing species from this famous locality!!! This
specimen consists of a pyroxene matrix that hosts numerous significant masses and grains of silvery metallic
cooperite and braggite in association with chalcopyrite!!! The cooperite and braggite are present as silvery metallic masses
scattered throughout the matrix!!! There is one large, prominent mass of cooperite & braggite present on the front of the specimen and
several significant masses on the reverse (and numerous tiny grains throughout the specimen)!!!
Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see the slightly different hues and defined zones of cooperite and braggite within the
silvey masses!!! There is a significant area of deep golden chalcopyrite present as well and, upon close inspection, one can
see numerous masses of cooperite and braggite included within it as well!!! There are very likely additional PGM species present as well (there
are quite likely submicro moncheite grains present as this was from the same material the polished & analyzed specimens came from)!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
