Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of these rare platinum and palladium bearing species from this famous locality!!! This
specimen consists of a pyroxene matrix that hosts numerous significant masses and grains of silvery metallic
cooperite and braggite with moncheite inclusions!!! This specimen is quite thick and has been polished on both
sides (this specimen could easily be cut into more slices it is so thick!)!!!
Although one can see numerous grains and masses on the polished faces, there is a large, significant mass of
visible on the side of the specimen in addition to numerous other grains and masses!!! The intergrown
masses of cooperite and braggite host inclusions of moncheite!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope
one can see pronounced differences in the metallic PGM species' hues!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer
