An absolutely outstanding example of native copper from Michigan!!! This specimen hosts a sharp, complete crystal of
native copper set in a nodule of cream and pink colored datolite on matrix!!! The crystal is sharp and chunky with
broad, sharply defined faces and highly complex features!!! The native copper has a gorgeous, varied patina!!! The
massive datolite provides a handsome contrast to the native copper and ranges in color from cream to pink!!!
Upon close inspection, one can see minute inclusions of native copper within the datolite as well!!! This impressive
native copper crystal measures 2.3cm and is complete and undamaged all around!!! This specimen has an affixed catalogue number and
label from the collection of Wallace W. Bates!!! An extraordinary example of the species indeed - a gorgeous, isolated native copper crystal
aesthetically perched in a nodule of pink datolite!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
