Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of native copper from this seldom referenced California locale!!! This specimen consists of a dense, solid mass of
native copper that exhibits significant surface alteration to reddish cuprite!!! This specimen is quite hefty and solid - (weighing what you'd expect a copper
nugget of near equivalent size to weigh)!!! There are a few tiny areas of metallic native copper to be seen among the reddish cuprite-altered areas and there
are also two small vugs that host what appear copper crystals coated with secondary copper species!!! This is a very interesting old time California specimen indeed!!! This specimen
retains an antique dealer label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
