Native Copper and Cuprite

Copper Queen Mine, Queen Hill, Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts, Cochise Co., Arizona

13.5cm x 8.3cm x 5.4cm

Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum

Description/Interesting Notes:

A magnificent, old time example of native copper with cuprite from Bisbee!!! This specimen consists of a large, dense mass of crystalline native copper with cuprite crystals!!! The native copper is present as complexly crystalline dendritic clusters and numerous thatchworks of fine, hairlike native copper crystals!!! There are several significant areas of this unique material (possibly copper pseudomorphs after cuprite var. chalcanthite?) that have both reddish and greenish patinas!!! This is a killer Bisbee old timer that is WAY better than the pictures show!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains an old museum label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 26th!!!
