Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible, old time example of native copper after cuprite from this classic Arizona locale!!! This
specimen hosts several crystals of cuprite that have been completely replaced by native copper perched on a matrix of
massive cuprite ore!!! The native
copper is well crystallized and has an attractive patina with metallic luster!!! The specimen retains well defined octahedral
form and displays quite handsomely!!! The crystal's octahedral form is much more apparent and defined in person!!!
This amazing specimen is from the collection of
Harold D. Levey!!! This is very rare material and this is the last of a small group of specimens
we acquired in an old collection!!! I had never seen such material from the Ray Mine before and I doubt
that I ever will again - don't miss out!!!
