A large, old time example of native copper from New Jersey!!! This specimen is primarily comprised of native copper and weighs over 1kg!!! The
previous label states that it is native copper in "amethyst" however, I would call it rather "amethistine quartz" since, while it is indeed
light purple in color, it is rather pale (although it is more noticeable than the pics show)!!! However, this is a minor detail - this is a
very impressive specimen indeed!!! The specimen came to us from the colleciton of Jim Chenard who acquired it from Fred Parker who obtained it
from the Manley Collection!!! This specimen retains old notation that details that this specimen was part of a huge, 97lb. mass of copper found in
June, 1926!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
