Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of native copper from Jerome, Arizona!!! This specimen consists of a showy group of dendritic native copper crystals
that has replaced an old-time iron mine rail!!! Jerome has a rich mining history and was once proclaimed the be "the wickedest town in the West"!!!
This specimen was once an iron rail, however it has been replaced and overgrown by an impressive cluster of native copper crystals!!!
The form of the rail, and traces of it, are still quite apparent!!! The copper hosts some red, microcrystalline cuprite and, upon close inspection the
native copper can be seen to be relatively well crystallized!!! This specimen is very showy and impressive indeed!!! A fantastic example of this
unusual phenomenon and from a historic locality as well!!! This specimen is from the collection of Ron Januzzi!!! The pics
hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY NOVEMBER 11th!!!
