Description/Interesting Notes:
A very unique old time example of native copper from Port Radium!!! This specimen consists of a curious, two-generation cluster of
native copper crystals!!! This specimen consists of a fine, dendritic cluster of native copper crystals that is topped by complex, chunky
crystals of native copper!!! The first generation of native copper crystals has a dark, silvery-copper patina and exhibits a nearly identical
habit to the native silver specimens that are much more commonly seen from
this locality!!! In person one can see that this first generation of dendritic copper is VERY finely crystallized in a manner that is nearly
identical to the native silver from this region!!! However, it IS native copper - which makes it all the more
intruiging and bizarre (at least if it were native silver it would explain the dramatic difference in forms and pronounced epitaxi!)
The second generation of native copper crystals consists of thick, chunky crystals that have sharply defined faces and a
handsome reddish patina!!! The faces are smooth and very well defined!!! The crystal forms are much more pronounced and significant than
the pictures show as well!!! This specimen is simply incredible in person!!! This specimen came from the collection of Howard Belsky!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 1st!!!
