Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent, old time native copper from this historic Michigan locale!!! This specimen is from the collection of
famed copper magnate Thomas F. Cole (1862-1939) and retains an old label (with Cole collection notation) from the California
Institute of Technology Collection!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of particularly
sharp and significantly sized crystals of native copper!!! The specimen
hosts a large, highly complex crystal of native copper accented by smaller crystals that have
razor sharp features and amazing crystallization!!! The main crystal is quite impressive with sharp, brilliant faces and
a gorgeous patina!!! There is an area in the center of the main crystal that shows some irregularity, but it is much
more crystalline than the pictures imply - in person one can see that this area actually hosts numerous minute crystal faces
and some green microcrystals of epidote as well!!! This specimen is in superb condition all around and displays stunningly in person!!!
This is a very fine and impressive old time native copper - the pics don't even come close to doing this killer justice!!! It is
no wonder that this beauty came from the collection of famed copper magnate Thomas F. Cole (1862-1939)!!! Classic!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
