Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of native copper with cuprite and calcite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen hosts a
showy network of sharply formed native copper crystals paired with ruby red crystals of cuprite and
complex, lustrous calcite crystals!!! The native copper crystals exhibit highly complex forms with
razor-sharp faces and an almost golden, slightly iridescent patina!!! The cuprite crystals
are present as complex groups of modified cubo-octahedral crystals with rich red color!!! The
calcite crystals are present in two generations with a layer of tiny crystals underneath a network of
blocky, complex, highly lustrous calcite crystals!!! The larger calcite crystals fluoresce a lively
orange-red under SW UV, whereas the tiny crystals do not!!! There is also a small amount of tan colored
mimetite in minor association as well!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition and displays fantastically
all around!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 20th!!!
