Description/Interesting Notes:
An exceptional, old time example of native copper from this historic Bolivian locale!!! While this
locality is well known for its characteristic copper after aragonite pseudomorphs, examples of actual
crystalline native copper are extremely rare!!! This is OLD material that likely dates to the
late 19th century!!! This specimen is WAY better than the pics show - in person one can see that it is
very well crystallized all over the entire specimen!!! The specimen is very aesthetic and showy in person!!! The
specimen consists of a dramatically
elongated ribbon of flattened, intergrown, herring-bone like crystals with scattered, spear-like spinel-twin crystals
jutting out and complex networks of dendritic crystals along its periphery!!! The crystals show areas of
copper metallic brilliance with broad areas of rich, red microcrystalline cuprite and
some scattered areas of minor greenish malachite!!! This specimen is complete and undamaged all around!!! This specimen is a
KILLER in person!!! Fine examples of native copper crystals from this locality are extremely scarce!!! This specimen
retains two old handscripted labels as well!!! Simply a magnificent example of native copper from Bolivia!!! Don't miss out on this
