An absolutely magnificent example of native copper after cuprite from this incredible recent find!!! This specimen consists of a
cluster of conjoined cuprite crystals that have been completely replaced by finely crystallized native copper!!! Every feature of
the original octahedral cuprite crystals is still evident in razor-sharp detail!!! The crystals are complete and undamaged all around!!!
The bottom of the specimen shows a small open area that hosts a single, complex crystal of native silver intergrown with the
pseudomorphic copper crystals!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope, there are two tiny clusters of what appear to
be cerussite as well!!! This specimen is a KILLER in person - these pics dont even come close to capturing just how sharp and fine
this beauty is!!! The native copper crystals have a striking, varied patina with a few accents of brassy-golden and silvery metallic brilliance
in person!!!
