Cuprite with Native Copper pseudomorph after Cuprite and Native Silver Rubtsovskoe Cu-Zn-Pb deposit, Rudnyi Altai, Altaiskii Krai, Western-Siberian Region, Russia 2.35cm x 2cm x 1.3cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely amazing example of native copper after cuprite and cuprite from Russia!!! This striking specimen consists of a sharp, octahedral crystal of cuprite conjoined with a similarly sized pseudomorph of native copper after cuprite!!! It is literally like a conjoined "before & after" example!!! The specimen is sharp and in fantastic condition all around!!! The native copper pseudomorph after copper also hosts a small area of native silver that is present as very fine dendritic masses (likely pseudomorphs after miersite or other related halides)!!! The cuprite crystals have unique patterns on their faces which is likely underlying pseudomorphism - the resulting effect are handsome reddish highlights on the cuprite crystals' faces!!! This specimen is simply amazing in person - the pair of conjoined crystals, one pseudomorphic, one unaltered makes for a fantastic display indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
