Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible, old time example of native copper after cuprite from this classic Arizona locale!!! This specimen hosts
several, sharply defined crystals of native copper after cuprite!!! The native copper pseudomorphs retain the cuprite crystals'
octahedral form in sharp detail - upon close inspection one can even see thin, edge modifications on some of them!!! The
native copper has a gorgeous, slightly golden red patina that is quite striking in person (the crystals' metallic brilliance is
much more dramatic than the pics show)!!! The crystals range in size to 1cm!!! This is an INCREDIBLE specimen all around!!!
Upon close inspection one can see individual copper crystals within the octahedral form of the crystal at the "top" of the specimen!!! Additionally,
there is one tiny crystal of cuprite (visible on the reverse of the specimen)
that appears to have been replaced by calcite(?)!!! This amazing specimen is from the collection of Harold D. Levey!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 19th!!!
