Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of native copper pseudomorphs after cuprite with native silver from Russia!!! This specimen consists
of a cluster of complex, cubo-octahedral cuprite crystals that have been completely replaced by native copper crystals!!!
This striking pseudomorph is quite sharply defined and much more three-dimensional than the pics show!!!
The actual native copper crystals are quite sharp themselves
and have a gorgeous patina and lively metallic luster!!! In addition, there is a small amount of
native silver perched between the native copper pseudomorphs!!! The native silver is present as an almost
spongiform mass of fine dendritic crystals that is likely pseudomorphic after one of the
rare halide species found in close association at this locality (likely miersite)!!!
This is a terrific example of this unique occurence that
will no doubt be considered a future classic!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition and displays fantastically
all around!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 11th!!!
