Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of native copper from Arizona!!! This specimen consists of a network of native copper crystals in a matrix of
calcite and quartz!!! The native copper crystals are present both as fine, dendritic spinel twin crystals as well as more complex, chunkier crystals with
a unusual orange-metallic, multi-hued patina!!! The dendritic crystals network their way through the calcite and quartz matrix and are quite
fascinating upon close study!!! The larger native copper crystals have well defined faces and a unique and multi-hued patina!!! There is a
significant amount of cuprite in association with the native copper as well - present both as small cuprite crystals and fine, bright red chalcotrichite as well!!!
This specimen dates to the 1950's era at this classic locality and is way better than the pics show!!! This specimen retains a stock
label from the Rice Northwest Museum as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
