An incredible example of coquimbite from a new find in Peru!!! This small new find represents the one of best examples of this
species known!!! Of the specimens from this new find, there were just a few that had a colorful association with chalcanthite - this
particular specimen was one of the best!!! The specimen consists of a group of complex crystals with sharp, lustrous faces and marked
clarity!!! The color is absolutely exceptional and actually exhibits some significant color change - with sunlight and incandescent
lighting producing an intense "Pulsifer apatite-like" purple color and some synthetic light sources yielding an almost tan color!!!
Only a few specimens had such incredible color!!! This specimen is complete and in terrific condition!!! The chalcanthite is actually
well crystallized and there is also a small amount of root-beer colored jarosite in association as well!!! Simply a magnificent
specimen indeed!!! You can find out more about this find on our Tucson Show 2010 Blog through our "About Me" page!!! Don't miss
