An incredible example of coquimbite from a new find in Peru!!! This small new find represents the one of best examples of this
species known!!! This specimen is one of the largest single crystals from this small lot of material!!! This specimen consists
of a very large, complex single crystal with numerous smaller crystals in association!!! The specimen has sharp, lustrous faces
and marked clarity!!! The color is absolutely exceptional and actually exhibits some significant color change - with sunlight
and incandescent lighting producing an intense "Pulsifer apatite-like" purple color and some synthetic light sources yielding
an almost tan color!!! Only a few specimens had such incredible color!!! This specimen is complete all around and the bottom
is terminated as well!!! There is also some bright blue crystalline chalcanthite in association as well!!! While there were
a small number of specimens we only selected the four very best peices, as the large majority of the others were not of such high
quality in terms of crystal size, quality, and color!!! You can
find out more about this find on our Tucson Show 2010 Blog through our "About Me" page!!! Don't miss out on this extraordinary specimen!!!
