Coquimbite with Halotrichite and Copiapite Dexter No. 7 Mine, Calf Mesa, San Rafael District (San Rafael Swell), Emery Co., Utah 2.65cm x 2.04cm x 1.79cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of this rare species from Utah!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of incredibly well-formed coquimbite crystals in association with halotrichite and copiapite!!! The coquimbite crystals are complete all around with sharp, lustrous faces, marked clarity, and terrific light purple color!!! These coquimbite crystals have such fine crystallization that they could be mistaken for apatites!!! The reverse of the specimen hosts several coquimbite crystals that have altered to copiapite!!! Tucked amongst the nooks & crannies are tufts of whitish halotrichite as well!!! A magnificent example of this rare species indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
