Coquimbite Dexter #7 Mine, Calf Mesa, San Rafael District (San Rafael Swell), Emery Co., Utah 8.1cm x 5.4cm x 2.9cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of this rare species from Utah!!! This specimen consists of a large and showy cluster of gemmy purple crystals of coquimbite!!! There are impressive displays of crystals on BOTH sides of this specimen!!! The crystals have terrific form and luster for the species!!! The gemminess and color are fantastic as well!!! Usually these crystals are very altered or decomposed to the point of no return, however this specimen has been well stored in an old collection!!! Upon close examination, it is evident that there are also several other species in association - which likely include some of the lesser known sulfates from the locality!!! The pics say it all!!!
