Quartz pseudomorph after Coral with Calcite Pint's Quarry, Raymond, Black Hawk Co., Iowa 7.84cm x 5cm x 3.05cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely remarkable example of quartz after coral!!! This specimen consists of a piece of coral that has been COMPLETELY replaced by CRYSTALLINE quartz!!! the skeletal structures of the coral have been replaced by the most meticulously ordered, sharp, complex quartz crystals!!! This is not your ordinary quartz replaced coral... this specimen is so finely crystallized and detailed that it is simply astonishing!!! In addition to the quartz there is a small amount of massive calcite present as well (however the coral is entirely comprised of quartz of course)!!!
