A magnificent example of sapphire corundum from Montana!!! This specimen hosts several bluish gray sapphire crystals in a biotite schist matrix in
association with small crystals of baddeleyite!!! The main sapphire crystal consists of an undamaged 5.7cm, doubly terminated crystal prominently perched
on the matrix!!! The crystals of baddeleyite consist of small nearly black crystals hidden amongst the biotite!!! This specimen retains old, unattributed labels as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!!
