Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of crocoite on goethite from Tasmania!!! This specimen consists of a handsome matrix of darkly colored goethite that hosts smartly contrasting, intensely colored crocoite crystals prominently perched upon it!!! The crystals have gorgeous color with glassy luster and marked translucence!!! There is one thick, stout crystal that is terminated with a highly complex termination with an almost velveteen luster!!! The goethite has an attractive luster and form that makes for a handsome pairing with the crocoite crystals!!! Old material!!! This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineral Museum and retains an old Foote label and a label from the collection of H.C. Van Tassel and affixed museum catalogue number!!!
