Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare 19th century example of crocoite from the Philippines!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of complexly altered quartz crystals that host
a combination of bright red-orange crocoite with dark greenish vauquelinite and bright green pyromorphite!!! Upon close inspection one
can see several scattered crystals of bright red-orange crocoite paired with bright green to yellow-green pyromorphite and scattered, intergrown
crystals of darker brownish green vauquelinite!!! This is rare, 19th
century material and retains an old label from Dr. A. Krantz (1809-1872) and an old label from the
Michigan College of Mines (A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum)!!!
The specimen also still retains its original antique, museum specimen box as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person
to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 15th!!!
