Description/Interesting Notes: PLEASE NOTE: This is a special "Holiday Listing" and will be ending on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 28th A rare example of crystalline cryolite from Greenland!!! This magnificent old time cryolite speicmen consists of a matrix of massive cryolite that boasts a broad face covered with highly lustrous, cryolite crystals and fine patches of microcrystalline pachnolite and thomsenolite crystals!!! The cryolite crystals exhibit sharp cubic faces with some highly complex etching!!! There is much more crystallization than it appears in the photos and the somewhat "fuzzy" areas host areas of dense pachnolite crystals in association with the cryolite crystals!!! On the opposite side of the specimen, there are etched vugs that are completely lined with sharp, prismatic crystals of pachnolite with thomsenolite as well!!! This specimen is simply magnificent in person!!! The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the A.E.
