Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare and unique example of cuprite and related copper-bearing species from Madagascar!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
deep reddish cuprite in association with a significant showing of chrysocolla, malachite, native copper and azurite in a
basalt matrix!!! There is a handsome vug of botryoidal chrysocolla (actually a coating of chrysocolla on top of numerous, almost
spheroidal malachite balls) that has an attractive light blue color in addition to numerous significant areas of
blue green and green chrysocolla!!! The native copper can be seen as masses poking
out from the cuprite and basalt matrix!!! There are numerous areas of radiating, fibrous green
malachite crystals present throughout the specimen as well as scattered sprays of intense royal blue azurite!!!
You simply do not see specimens like this from Madagascar!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
