Cuprite with Chrysocolla Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre) 5.37cm x 2.66cm x 3.2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of cuprite from the Congo!!! This specimen consists of a large and impressive cluster of cuprite crystals in association with a small amount of chrysocolla!!! This specimen is comprised mainly of solid, deep red cuprite - present as a very large main crystal with numerous others in close association!!! The crystals have sharp, lustrous faces and - most notably, striking deep red color!!! With some lighting, the crystals show ruby red color and marked clarity throughout!!! This specimen came out of an old collection and although there is some damage, one can see the specimen is still very impressive and quite showy indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
