Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this rare silver-copper iodide on cuprite from Russia!!! This specimen hosts a paricularly
rich showing of rare, bright yellow miersite on a matrix of dark red cuprite crystals!!!! Miersite is
a very rare species and significant examples such as this are rarely seen!!!
It is my understanding that these miersite specimens occured in just one small area
of the deposit and no more have been seen since!!! This is a very significant example of this species indeed!!! The
miersite has striking yellow color and slight translucence!!! Upon
close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see that the miersite is actually well crystallized as well!!! Not only is
this a magnificent example of this rare silver-copper iodide, it is a very handsome specimen as well - paired with
sharp, octahedral crystals of dark red cuprite!!!
