Cuprite with Malachite Ogonja Mine, Windhoek District, Khomas Region, Namibia 4.25cm x 2.72cm x 2.4cm Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection No. 5

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of cuprite from Ogonja!!! This specimen is almost entirely comprised of crystalline cuprite in association with some lively green malachite and a few tiny quartz crystals scattered about!!! The cuprite is present as intergrown groups of large, compound cubic crystals!!! There is a prominent group of gemmy cuprite crystals perched on top and handsomely accented with bright green malachite!!! The cuprite crystals exhibit some etched and other highly complex features and are much more crystalline than the pics show!!! The cuprite has dark red color and with some lighting the gemmy areas glow a bright ruby red!!! Classic material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer and retains an original collection label as well!!!
