PLEASE NOTE: This is a special "Holiday Listing" and will be ending on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 28th
An absolutely superb example of cuprite from New Mexico!!! This old time specimen
consists of a very large, single floater crystal of cuprite!!! The crystal is a complex,
compound cubo-octahedral crystal!!!
The crystal has sharp, highly lustrous faces and
lively flashes of deep red color!!! The crystal is
complete and unamaged all around!!! The areas that might appear to be damage in the pictures are actually
areas where there are numerous tiny, stepped faces where cubic forms are coming out of the crystal!!! This specimen was part of a group of cuprite crystal
specimens from the Foster collection!!! The specimens were all single floater crystals
from this locality, however this specimen was the largest and best cubo-octahedral crystal by far!!! This specimen is
absolutely exceptional for the locality!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it
justice!!! This specimen does not retain its original label since it was part of the group, however I would be happy to provide digital copies upon request!!!
The Foster collection held some truly extraordinary specimens from the Southwest U.S. that are still highly regarded today!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
