Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic combination of curite and soddyite from Shinkolobwe!!! This classic beauty consists of a colorful yellow and green (torbernite) matrix that hosts a
rich showing of acicular crystals of intense orange-red curite and bright yellow to brown soddyite in association with an unknown red-orange species!!! The
curite is present as fine, intensely colored acicular crystals!!! The soddyite crystals are sharp, lustrous, and rather large for the species!!! The soddyite crystals
range in color from yellow to brown and some are present as balls of crysals poking through the curite crystals!!! On the
reverse side of the specimen, there is a broad swath of intense orange-red crystals of unknown identity!!! At first glance it appears to be massive, amorphous curite, however
upon close study it is clearly complexly crystalline material!!! This is a killer, old time Shinkolobwe specimen indeed!!! It is much more colorful than
the pictures show and there are almost certainly other rare species present as well!!! This specimen came from a small lot of specimens that came from Gilbert Gauthier!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Gorgeous in person!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
