Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this very rare and highly sought after species from Franklin!!! This specimen
came from a small find made a number of years ago
by Dru Wilbur while searching through material used for the foundation of a nearby mill site (although the material
almost certainly originated at the mine)!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of cuspidine in association with
willemite and franilinite!!! The cuspidine exhibits the characteristic orange fluorescence under SW UV (the specimen is
much better in person than the pictures show) and the willemite exhibits bright green fluorescence under SW UV!!!
One side of the specimen shows a rich, complex network of cuspidine distributed throughout rounded grains of willemite while the
other side shows an almost bulls-eye like showing of cuspidine around a center of willemite!!! In person, one can see what
appear to be some crystalline features on the cuspidine in one area as well!!! This specimen
has Dru Wilbur's catalogue number on the specimen as well!!! Don't miss out on this sought after Franklin rarity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
