Cylindrite Poopó Province, Oruro Department, Bolivia 4.21cm x 2.96cm x 2.2cm Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 6208

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of cylindrite from the type locality in Bolivia!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of cylindrite crystals in matrix!!! Cylindrite is the only mineral species with a truly "cylindrical" habit!!! The crystals measure up to 3.5 cm - which is quite large for the species!!! The crystals are sharply defined, lustrous, and long!!! Rarely does one see specimens with such well defined and prominent crystals!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of noted scholar and collector Bob Jenkins and retains his original label!!! The bottom of the specimen has a curious brassy-golden metallic species partially coating it!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
