Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of this rare vesuvianite varietal from Norway!!! This specimen hosts numerous crystals of
intensely colored blue vesuvianite var. cyprine in colorful association with pinkish-purple fluorite, and
reddish zoisite var. thulite!!! Although the cyprine crystals are largely incomplete, the majority show sharply defined, highly lustrous
crystal faces and gemmy clarity!!! The color is simply incredible in person and brings to mind very fine Paraiba tourmaline in areas!!! The combination of
the intense blue cyprite with the pinkish purple fluorite (shows marked color change between incandescent and full-spectrum lighting from a distinct purplish to a
more magenta, pinkish-purple)!!! The cyprite crystals range in size with the largest compound crystal measuring 3.4cm!!! One area
of cuprite hosts a thin layer of either non-cyprine vesuvianite or perhaps a different unidentified species as well!!!
The thulite is present as distinct reddish massive material included in the matrix!!! There is a lot more going on with this specimen
than the pictures show and there are some small, complete, gemmy crystals of cyprine present as well!!! The gemminess, quality, and COLOR
of the cyprine is simply incredible in person - way better than the pics show!!! Simply incredible old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 2nd!!!
