Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare, type locale example of Dawsonite from the McGill University campus in Canada!!! Dawsonite from the type locale was
recently featured in the Mineralogical Record (Vol. 44, No. 1 January - February 2013)!!! This is old type locality material and
consists of compressed groups of dawsonite crystals richly scattered across three different sides of this matrix!!!
It was quite difficult to capture this specimen in the photos - however it is WAY better in person!!! The
crystallization is much more signifiant and one can see the complex patchwork of intergrown crystal groups and their differently oriented
flashes of luster!!! This is a rich and significant example of this old type locale material!!! These
type locality dawsonite specimen are extremely rare and very difficult to acquire!!! This specimen retains an old
Burminco label as well!!! Don't miss out on this rare opportunity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 30th!!!
