Andradite var. Demantoid Garnet Mine Lac d'Amiante (Black Lake mine), Chaudiere-Appalaches, Quebec, Canada 5.1cm x 4.1cm x 3.5cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of demantoid garnet from this seldom referenced Canadian locale!!! This specimen hosts a group of uniquely colored, green demantoid garnet crystals perched in a vug lined with complex vesuvianite crystals!!! The demantoid garnet crystals have glassy luster, marked translucence, and incredible slighly bluish green color!!! The crystals are much greener than they appear in these pictures - however they are very unique compared to any other locality!!! The crystals range in size to nearly 1cm!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!! This specimen came from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
