Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of this famed gem species in kimberlite matrix!!! This specimen consists of a portion of darkly colored
kimberlite matrix that hosts a single pristine crystal of diamond!!! I must start by saying that this specimen was quite difficult to photograph because
the diamond was so bright and the matrix was quite dark - however, it is way better than the pictures show!!! The diamond crystal measures approximately
2mm and is a sharp, highly
lustrous macle-twin with gemmy clarity that allows you to see right through to the matrix underneath!!! The crystal is complete and undamaged!!! This specimen
has not been repaired in anyway - as is so often the case with matrix diamond specimens!!! True matrix examples of diamond are quite scarce indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
