Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of diamond on matrix!!! This specimen hosts a single 5mm diamond crystal prominently perched on a conglomerate matrix!!! The diamond crystal is a highly complex, elongated crystal with brilliant luster and marked clarity!!! The characteristic luster of the diamond crystal really stands out among the miscellaneous cobbles present in the conglomerate!!! When I first saw one of these diamond in conglomerate specimens from Brazil I was quite skeptical - however, after rigorous inspection and testing it was determined they were indeed natural and - after a bit of research we were surprised to find old color plates of these specimens dating back to the 1800's!!!
