Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique and showy old time example of diamond from Russia!!! This specimen consists of a
gorgeous, octahedral diamond crystal that exhibits complex, stepped, concentric
triangular faces on each octahedron face - the overall effect is quite striking in person!!!
Although it is difficult to discern in the pics because of its complex form - the crystal
is bright and gemmy within!!! The most notable feature, aside from the unique habit, is the
particularly colorful RED inclusion located near one corner!!! I am not entirely certain what
the inclusion is, however it shows a lively red color and light passes through it!!!
The crystal has lively and dramatic play of light within!!! This unique beauty is complete
and pristine all around!!! This specimen is WAY better than the pics show!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting
minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's) and was
in a small suite of diamond crystals that showed particularly unique or unusual features!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 27th!!!
