Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of a most unusual species from New Jersey!!! This specimen actually came from the sea floor
in Newark Bay that was dredged up in a project to deepen the bay and subsequently used as fill in the construction of the Port Elizabeth
Mall!!! More of this material will likely never be encountered again!!! Although there are a few worldwide localities of this rare
species, it is believed that all of them likely are the result of industrial waste products - however, it is interesting to note that
this material supposedly came from an area of sea floor that was previously undisturbed!!! This specimen retains an old label from
Josef Vajdak as well!!! This specimen consists of a juxtaposed group of lustrous, slightly pearlescent crystals and is actually a fantastic
example of the species!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
