Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of diaspore from Slovakia!!! This specimen consists of a yellow matrix of zunyite var. dillnite that hosts
numerous complex crystals of lavender colored diaspore!!! The diaspore crystals are highly lustrous with clarity that ranges
from translucent to near gemmy in small areas!!! The crystals are highly complex although there are a few complete terminations that
jut from the matrix as well!!! The purple color of the crystals seems to vary considerably depending on the particular type of lightsource as well!!! The
specimen was sawn on one edge to exhibit just how rich the diaspore is throughout the specimen - there is a lot more diaspore than can be appreciated from the
pictures alone!!! This specimen retains old labels from Theodor Schuchardt (1824-1892) and Schortmann's as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must
be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Rare, old material!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
