Description/Interesting Notes:
An outstanding, old time example of dioptase and wulfenite from Tiger!!! This specimen consists of a LARGE, showy cluster of bright intense green to blue green dioptase
in association with wulfenite and willemite, as well as a few unidentified species!!! The dioptase crystals are present as gemmy, acicular crystals as well as dense clusters of
crystals that are almost botryoidal in nature!!! The wulfenite crystals are present as large, sharp orange blades scattered throughout the matrix as well as numerous
small crystals perched on top of the dioptase crystals!!! The wulfenite crystals on the surface also exhibit an unusual feature where many of the crystals have red-orange cores and outer
zones of yellow-orange wulfenite that are partially etched in many cases!!! The willemite crystals are present as bands of prismatic, colorless translucent crystals that alternate
throughout the bands of wulfenite and dioptase!!! The entire specimen is comprised of alternating bands of these three species!!! In addition, there are much smaller bright yellow submillimeter crystals
present on a portion of the dioptase crystals (this gives a portion of the specimen a more emerald green color on one half while the dioptase without this
association has a more blue-green hue)!!! The botryoidal nature of the specimen makes for a very showy presentation, with greater deposition of dioptase on certain aspects!!! These
pictures don't even come CLOSE to doing this showy old time beauty justice!!! This speicmen is WAY more colorful and brilliant than the pictures show!!!
This specimen retains an old Schortmann's label and was acquired from the personal collection of noted Arizona collector Evan Jones!!! This valuable specimen
had an old dealer label as well that priced it into the thousands!!! Don't miss out!!!
