Description/Interesting Notes: A colorful combination of dioptase and cuprite var. chalcotrichite from Arizona!!! This specimen hosts an aesthetic combination of intense emerald green dioptase in association with two distinctly different shades of chalcotrichite - intense red and bright orange!!! The dioptase and chalcotrichite are present atop a layer of small calcite crystals!!! There are some small, complex growths of native copper present among the chalcotrichite crystals!!! The dioptase crystals are present as groups of small, intensely colored crystals and the chalcotrichite is present as fibrous, hair-like tufts!!! Interestingly, the chalcotrichite exhibits two very different colors with one area showing a lively red and the other showing a bright orange!!! The color combination is quite befitting of the Christmas Mine!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
