Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely magnificent example of dolomite from Brazil!!! The dolomite specimens from Serra das Eguas are among the finest in the world!!! Dolomite is typically only regarded as an accessory mineral and is rarely the "featured" species on a specimen, however these rare, world class dolomite crystals are truly extraordinary!!! This specimen consists of a huge, twinned dolomite crystal in association with hematite-stained quartz crystals and water-clear rhombs of magnesite!!! The dolomite crystals are sharp, glassy, and have gemmy clarity!!! The outer faces of the dolomite crystals have inclusions of hematite within them that create a golden-gemmy layer a few millimeters thick that sandwich a thick layer of colorless, gemmy dolomite!!! This specimen is truly amazing in person!!! The pics do not even come close to capturing just how fine and aesthetic this rare dolomite beauty is!!! This specimen was priced into the four figures!!!
