Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent, old time example of domeykite with native copper and silver from the Cashin Mine!!! This specimen consists of a magnificently
well crystallized cluster of domeykite and copper crystals in association with a small amount of native silver!!! The majority of the specimen has
the characteristic patina of domeykite from this locality, however there are several areas where one can see bright native copper as well!!! In some
cases, it appears that there is an outer layer of domeykite with native copper just below!!! In addition, there are a few, tiny isolated crystals of native
silver as well as broader areas that seem to have a silvery patina!!! This is an incredible combination specimen, with incredible
crystallization for the locality!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! (On a side note, This
specimen was acquired from an old collection
and was initially glued with resin to a wooden base that took weeks to carefully dissolve and remove - however it was certainly
well worth it, because
the best crystals were hidden underneath!!!)
