Cookeite pseudomorph after Elbaite Tourmaline

Mt Mica Quarry, Paris, Oxford Co., Maine

4.7cm x 3.2cm x 2.6cm

Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 9986

Description/Interesting Notes:

A terrific example of cookeite after elbaite from Maine!!! This specimen consists of a sharp group of slightly curving parallel tourmaline crystals that have been replaced by cookeite!!! There is a paper thin, stained glass-like network of tourmaline coating the outside of the crystals that provide terrific luster and color to this old time pseudo!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen is from the Jenkins collection and retains its original label!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
