A fantastic old time example of watermelon tourmaline in association with spodumene from Connecticut!!! This specimen consists of a
pink lepidolite and quartz matrix that hosts numerous green, pink, and watermelon tourmaline crystals in addition to a broad spodumene crystal that has
partially pseudomorphed to pinite!!! The tourmaline crystals range in size up to 4.2cm!!! There is one interesting crystal of watermelon tourmaline where the pink
core extends well beyond the green "rind" for nearly 1/3rd the length of the crystal!!! This specimen retains an old Sullivan collection label that notes on the back that
the specimen was acquired "from an old collection" in 1940!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
