Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of gold var. electrum from this seldom referenced Canadian locality!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and quartz that hosts a rich showing of bright silvery-golden gold var. electrum (silver-rich gold)!!! There are prominent, well centered masses of electrum that contrast smartly from the darkly colored matrix!!! Upon close inspection, there are numerous smaller masses scattered throughout the matrix that protrude slightly from the matrix as well!!! The masses of electrum exhibit some small crystalline features on the edges!!! This specimen is from the collection of Florence Mecke who began collecting in the 1930's and retains her label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
