Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of native gold var. electrum with several silver-bearing species from this seldom referenced Nevada
locality!!! The bottom of this specimen has been polished to exhibit the richness of the specimen and shows scattered masses of
native gold var. electrum in addition to silvery areas of polybasite and gilttering specks of pyrite!!! One side of this specimen hosts a showy network of sparkly, brassy colored pyrite crystals in rich association with
tiny polybasite crystals!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe one can see that the polybasite crystals are sharply defined hexagonal plates with
bright luster!!!
The opposing side hosts several rich masses of deep red pyrargyrite in addition to some more scattered crystals of pyrite as well!!!
There is a lot going on with this rich, old time gold & silver bearing Nevada specimen!!! This specimen retains an old label from
Forrest Cureton (the label notes the Queen of Sheba Mine as being in Storey Co.) as well!!! The pics don't
even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be see in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 19th!!!
